BENJAMIN F PACKARD
The Benjamin F. Packard was square rigged sailing vessel. She was
244 feet long had a 43 foot beam and displaced 2076 gross tons. The
Packard was built in Maine in 1883. In1939 after having sailed the
oceans for over fifty years she was scuttled in Long Island Sound.
The Benjamin F. Packard, which was pretty much stripped before her
sinking, now sits in 190 feet of water in the Eatons Neck dumping
grounds.
