BRIAN
C
The tugboat Brian C was built in 1928 as the John Cushman. According
to Gary Gentile in his book
Shipwrecks Of New Jersey the Brian C was
80 feet long had a 21 foot beam and displaced 136 gross tons. On
November 13, 1979 the tug was cruising off New Jersey when they
started to take water. The tug contacted the Coast Guard who
dispatched a helicopter. All efforts to save the tug failed. Her
captain and crew were rescued.
Remember
penetration into any shipwreck should only be done by those with
proper training, experience and
wreck diving equipment.
