CITY OF GEORGETOWN
The wood four masted schooner City of Georgetown was built in 1902.
She was 170 feet long and displaced 559 gross tons.
On February 2, 1913the City of Georgetown was in a collision with
the steamship Prinz Ockar. Damage was severe and the City of
Georgetown went down quickly. Fortunately all of her eight crew
members were saved. According to Bill Davis author of the book
Shipwrecks of the Atlantic this wreck now sits in 112 feet of water
on a clean sand bottom.
