HERBERT (NY)

According to SHIPWRECKS IN THE AMERICAS by Robert Marx this German ship went down on July10, 1710, off Montauk Point Long Island NY. At the time she was transporting immigrants. All of her crew and some of her cargo were saved. This ship is occasionally listed as a Treasure Wreck because she was carrying payroll. The remains of the Herbert have never been located.
