The steel hulled freighter Snug Harbor was sunk in a collision on
August 20, 1920. The Snug Harbor hit the barge Pottsville which was
being towed by the tugboat Covington. All of the Snug Harbors crew
were rescued before she went to the bottom.
Today the 2388 ton Snug Harbor sits in 60 feet of water off Montauk
